Usually, provisioning for garage space when building a house is standard procedure. It would be better for the family car to have it’s own roof especially in winter. Sometimes, homeowners find themselves with no storage space. This problem makes them use the garage. As more and more stuff is stored, the further the car is pushed out of it’s home. Most would just let things be and park the car on the driveway, and continue using the garage as storage space. If you think that by remodeling you might be losing too much storage space, you can always build a small storage space behind your garage to house sporting equipment, tools and other items. Adding a room for work space and even for living, for one of your kids (they usually love this) above the existing garage can give you additional space and also increase the value of your home without major changes to the floor plan. If you have your laundry room in the basement, you can move it up to the garage providing that there is added space available. A second floor music studio can be a great choice for your garage remodeling plans if you or your kids have some tendencies in this direction. The garage is the place where many “garage bands” got their start. To avoid your neighbors’ complaints consider soundproofing your studio walls. Another idea for your garage can be to transform it into a gym. If you have your equipment and you do not have enough place to use it indoors you can always move it into the garage and have plenty of place for your daily exercises and training. Also here you will not be bothered by anyone. There are plenty of ways to remodel a garage so that it can fit in more stuff. You can also add to its floor area by extending sideways, forward or backward. If you haven’t built on top of it, stop wasting the space and think of something to put up there. Remodeling a garage is fun. All the possibilities and planning gives you a rush of excitement and eagerness at seeing the job done.
